Where are we located?

The Academy is located within the Southtowne Community Revitalization Enhancement District (CRED). It is an additional component to the economic development efforts on southeast side of the city. The Academy is the first in the nation to use state-of-the-art fiber optics broadband to deliver training to all Allen County schools through ACEnet and Verizon’s Fiber-to-the-Premise for homes and area businesses.

The National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center (NERRTC), a member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium, and the Texas A&M University System, is pleased to announce the availability of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) certified Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Operations and Planning for All-hazards Events course.

Sensory Technologies Case Study of the Public Safety Academy

Sensory Technologies and the Public Safety Academy of Northeast Indiana recently collaborated on a case study. The study highlights the academy's innovative technological features, which were installed by Sensory.

  • Custom lecterns installed throughout the facility, including DVD/VHS players, laptop connectivty and keypad controls to provide instructors an intuitive teaching environment.
  • Five rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art distance learning systems allowing instruction and expert input from specialists.
  • A 290-seat auditorium features presentation, recording, voice reinforcement, and videoconferencing functionality.
  • The Planning Room can be utilized as an Emergency Operations Center. The space features tables with laptop connectivity, four 43" LCD screens, and the system's processing capacity allows screens that can also be split into four sections.
