Citizen's Police Academy
The "Citizen's Police Academy" is an opportunity for the general public to get a hands on prespective of the training, job requirements, and complexities of law enforcement. The "Citizen Police Academy" is a 10-week training program which will meet on Tuesday's from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
The Fort Wayne Police Department is presently accepting applications from citizens wanting the opportunity to be part of the "Citizen's Police Academy". The next class begins on Tuesday September 9, 2008.

16 Hour and Mandated Subjects
Courses will be taught to satisfy the state’s annual continuing education and mandated subjects requirements. The curriculum for these courses will be drawn from existing individual courses, as well as courses that have been extracted from topics covered in basic recruit training curricula. These courses may come from any approved curriculum source, statewide. Each course will be taught by an appropriately certified instructor.
