Brent A. Johnson
Name: Brent A. Johnson
Position: Director, Public Safety Academy
Education: BS, USMA (Engineering); MS, National Defense University, National Strategy Resourcing; MS, Penn State, (Psychology)
Experience: Last 15 years in progressively challenging senior level leadership positions in the United States Army. 3 years Army Installation management involving a myriad of diverse disciplines, infrastructure and management of a $100M annual budget. 3 years direct experience with designing and delivering training programs running the gamut from distance learning to hands-on classroom instruction. 3 years classroom experience as Instructor and Assistant Professor at USMA.
Accomplishments:
- Emplaced infrastructure and training to secure a major Army Installation (Fort Jackson, SC) after 9-11.
- Established Emergency Operations Center for Fort Jackson, SC after 9-11 involving synchronization and coordination with Local, State and Federal Civilian Emergency Responders and planners.
- Constructed and established the US Army's 1st Emergency Response Center for Police, Fire and EMS.
- Constructed a $68M Army barracks complex.
- Redesigned the current Army's personnel support structure for wartime operations.
- Spearheaded the Army's 1st personnel redesign structure in Mid-80s.
- Successfully managed the Army's largest Basic Training base within budget for 3 years.
- Oversaw the redesign and development of several of the Army's distance learning and platform-delivered training courses.
