Experience: 20 year active duty career, commissioned officer, Field Artillery, United States Army. Over 10 years’ experience as an instructor, training developer, or curriculum designer. Well established 17 year second career in higher education and workforce development training design, development and administration. Have served as Assistant Dean and Program Director at colleges and universities, and as Assistant Director at post-secondary vocational school. Have also served as lead counselor and site director for several career retraining projects for Fortune 500 companies. Successful grant writer for both state and federal projects, success as project manager for start-up and contract projects.

Accomplishments:

Distinguished Instructor Award for two years teaching command and staff organizations and procedures, and other subjects, at an Army service school.

Managed and supervised the developmental testing and validation of over 100 training courses designed at an Army service school.

Served on the Army team that worked with the US Dept. of Labor, Teamsters’ union, and American Trucking Associations to design an Army Apprenticeship program for truck drivers.

Administered Ohio’s state-wide network of 52 public two-year college business and industry training efforts, providing policy guidance and out of area project opportunities.

Conducted state-wide workforce development needs assessment through the above
network and selected employers.

Directed career advising and retraining opportunities, and benefit administration for employees of large manufacturing corporations displaced by corporate downsizing and plant closures.

Managed the administration of three-year, four million dollar contract to provide career development counseling and training to welfare recipients in a 14 county area of Tennessee. Wrote the proposal in response to an RFP that secured the contract.

Secured the assignment of the county adult education program to my employer during a time of program reassignment. Established the department and arranged the succession plan for the organization.
