Training

The private sector business and professional safety curriculum offered at the Public Safety Academy of Northeast Indiana will be chosen from many different sources. First, courses which satisfy a national, state or local government safety certification, training or education requirement for a public or private organization will be taught on demand on a contract basis as scheduling and staffing allow. Courses used to fulfill a specific training requirement will be sourced from any local, state, regionally, or nationally recognized, approved, certified, accredited training provider, and taught by an appropriately certified instructor. Over time, as we analyze our product demand and response data, we expect that these courses will become part of our regularly offered training selections. The Public Safety Academy will offer business safety training specifically targeting the service, hospital, utility and manufacturing markets. The utility services of NE Indiana intend to establish a consortium to plan and conduct integrated utility safety training, as well as training which interfaces their operations with emergency service personnel.

OSHA

The Public Safety Academy intends to offer OSHA training courses required by businesses presented by certified OSHA trainers. The OSHA 10 and 30 hour courses for construction and general industry will be regularly offered, as well as the standardized courses for specific topics. A partial, non-inclusive list follows. Instructors are available through the City of Fort Wayne, Allen County, and the state as well as public sector training providers. The PSA will coordinate your request among our partners to meet your specific requirements.
