EMS Training
Initial EMS, EMT, Paramedic
Ivy Tech Community College's Paramedic Science program is held at the Public Safety Academy. For more degree information, please visit Ivy Tech's Paramedic Science website at: http://www.ivytech.edu/schools/health/paramedic-science/index.html
Successful graduates of the Ivy Tech Paramedic Program earn an Associate of Science Degree in Paramedic Science. Degree programs in EMS are still fairly new and few paramedics possess a degree. Having earned a degree from an institution of higher learning will improve opportunities for career advancement.
Ivy Tech Community College and the Public Safety Academy are also exploring the conduct of a non-credit version of the Paramedic program at the Academy. Such a program would offer exit points for EMT Basic, EMT Basic/Advanced, and EMT Intermediate certificate preparation. This version of the program would incorporate both on site and distance learning instruction. No final approval yet.
