The Regional Public Safety Academy is 132,000 square feet of joint-use training and education space. An emphasis on technology and on-line learning will help the Academy export its training services throughout the region and the state using a new fiber optics network. Conference areas, a Planning Center and public access space is available for regional training and meetings. The firearms training simulator, wet and dry fire training rooms, large indoor shooting range, health and fitness center, emergency vehicle driving simulator and customized exercise scenario software makes it the public safety training destination of choice for Northeast Indiana.

State of the art planning/business center. Full screen projection and designed for multiple configurations. Floor is raised and segmented to afford communications and computer configurations to facilitate user preferences. Has planning office and radio/communications backup room. Additionally houses a VIP room, 3 breakout rooms and a secure room. Also includes a small kitchenette. Ideal center for business planning, small group training delivery, business continuity operations and emergency public safety operations.

Divided media/studio. Ability to conduct live press conferences, etc while recording and teleconferencing at the same time. Works in connection with the planning room.

2 General-purpose computer labs (one tiered for instructional ease and one designed for secure testing). Each capable of 25 students. Both outfitted with same projection, video and audio capabilities as the General Purpose Classrooms.

Modern cardio and free weight workout area designed specifically for on-site use by police, fire, staff, academy training partners, and faculty.

Modern gymnasium with 4 basketball goals, scoreboard and removable professional volleyball equipment. Designed for use by on-site police, fire and EMS academy students, as well as staff and faculty. Also available for community organizations.

State of the art, 25 meter, 16 lane indoor pistol range. Latest retrieval and trap technology, as well as nationally renowned ventilation system for officers’ protection. Range has capability for 270 degree firing as well as vehicular entry for law enforcement firing situations.

Indoor apparatus bay designed for Emergency vehicle entrance, outfitting and training. Also designed large enough to facilitate Fire CPAT testing.
