Training Division Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Division of Training and Development to provide comprehensive training and educational programs for all public safety personnel in order to create and maintain a competent and professional work force needed to support and accomplish the mission of the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

Applications may also be downloaded at the Application link below and can only be only be accepted at the Fire Department Administrative Building. If you would like to apply through mail, please send a money order payable to the Fort Wayne Fire Department to the administrative office listed above. Please include $3.00 shipping and handling if you would like us to mail a study guide back to you. (i.e. $13.00 for written exam only, $26.00 for written exam, study guide and shipping). See application for deadline date.
This year in the hiring process, the Fire Department will be utilizing the IAFF and IAFC approved Candidate Physical Abilities Test. Specific times are located in your application packet. See the link below for details on the CPAT.
Non-Resident Courses
The Academy offers courses through a distance delivery training system. PSA 2-day courses are available for delivery in States and local communities. Students can also attend select 6- or 10-day PSA courses within their geographical region through the Academy's off-campus and Hazardous Materials programs.
